I know how busy and hectic every day is – juggling a career, relationships, being a parent, household tasks, errands, appointments – the list is NEVER ENDING. In trying to keep your head above water, you’re putting your own needs on the back burner. Motivation to bust out a workout let alone to do anything else is non-existent.
I understand exactly what you’re going through because I’ve been in the same place!
With 5 awesome kids, a husband, and multiple businesses, it is not uncommon when there are days that overwhelm and anxiety kick in causing my mojo to be thrown off.
I want to share with you some tips that I use to dig down deep to get and stay motivated on my fitness journey (really how I stay motivated for everything):
Believe it or not, we have a choice in how we think, in how we speak, in our attitude, and a we certainly have a choice in our actions. Realizing that we have a say or that we can choose how we go about our day is actually pretty powerful if you think about it, and a true gift.
So when feeling a bit blah or off your game, ask yourself, “What can I do right now, today, that will help me move forward?” Take charge, take personal responsibility and choose to get unstuck! We have a choice!
Set a New Goal
Getting sucked in with the day-to-day, the same old routines and just going through the motions is certainly not the way to live. When was the last time you set a new goal? Having a goal gives us a challenge, a push outside our comfort zone, and gives us something to look forward to — it gives us hope! Without a goal, we are just merely surviving.
Keep it Fresh
Routines are very much needed and keep us on track, but every now and then, mix things up for some quick motivation. Break up the monotony and ditch the boredom. Add workout routines that have variety, create a new music playlist, get outside, hit the trails, try a new healthy treat — create a new routine. Change is good!
Find Your Tribe
Hitting the snooze button will not be an option when you have a buddy waiting on you. Surrounding yourself with others on the same mission is a game-changer when it comes to reaching your goals and helping you stay motivated. Knowing that a support system is there gives the needed boost, motivation, encouragement and accountability that we all need! Finding your tribe or your sisterhood is everything! It makes it super fun!
Find Your Mantra
When things are tough, when you are barely hanging on, and feeling unmotivated — chant your mantra! Girlfriend, shout it out! Create positive, go-to words that get you fired up. “I got this!”, “I am Unstoppable!” and “Let’s rock it out!” are my favorite mantras that I use daily! Speak them often and before you know it — you will feel super motivated!
Ditch the Negativity
Remove yourself from anything and anyone that drains you. And certainly do not be that negative influence yourself! What do you read? What do you listen to? Who do you allow in your inner circle? Who do you surround yourself with? Feed your mind with the good stuff. Rewire the way you think and the way you speak -ultimately it will change your life!
Believe that You are Worth It
It took me a long time to discover that in order to show up for my family, my husband, and my clients, I had to show up for MYSELF. I had to believe that I was worth it! Showing up for myself and believing in myself was the BEST thing that I could have done for myself (trust me, it’s not being selfish). Showing up for me was the BEST thing for my family too!
Just because you are YOU, should be the motivation enough to get you up and going!
Feeling more motivated? Better yet, feeling inspired? What are you going to do TODAY to get your mojo back? Find that fire within and enjoy the journey you are on!
